Our university got rid of the pool tables a few years ago to make way for other things. I recently found out that two of them were resurrected at one of the food locations that serves beer! I stopped in yesterday and watched some of the worst pool I had ever seen, but there were kids playing, which made me happy. One of the tables opened up, and I went and checked out the balls from the bar, only to realize that the level of the pool I saw had a lot to do with the equipment. Every single stick had a tip that had been worn down to the ferrule. I grabbed on with as much tip on it as I could find and there was probably only 5mm of tip with a sharp slant of plastic. Each shot was 50/50 on if I would miscue or not. I limited myself to center ball and was okay for a bit.
Anyway, I got home and realized I have about five cues that I have purchased over the years as part of auctions that had other better cues. These are okay for house cues but nothing I'll ever shoot with and 99% of the people who play on my table bring their own cue. So, I thought I should bring these up and donate them. They are all two-piece cues. But then I realized that if kids steal them, It will piss me off. I could get six "house" cues on Amazon for $100 and they probably would not be stolen.
Do I just bring in the five two-piece cues and let the world sort itself out? Or do I spend $100 to donate six brand-new house cues to the cause?
If I do bring in the two-piece cues, should I glue them together so "sticky mickey" has a harder time walking out with em?
