Dont buy from JD cues

So you paid the money to get mom's medicine, then the cue finally shows up. Hmm, maybe mom is the cuemaker there?

I don’t care if it’s the mail man, I shouldn’t have to force someone to do the job I paid them to do

I am not in the adult baby sitting business

I’m involved in a few different hobbies which have a micro-economy of custom builders. More often than not, these people do excellent work, but don’t have any business acumen. I’m a member of a lot of different forums just like this that discuss/sell/trade acoustic guitars, Hi Fi stereo equipment, traditional archery, etc. Every single one of those forums has cases like this where a custom builder/artisan is essentially running a Ponzi scheme; reliant on new customer deposits to finish work that is deep in their backlog. Anytime a small custom builder is commingling their personal funds with business funds (deposits and progress payments), the death spiral invariably starts. All of the excuses from these builders, regardless of what they make, are precisely the same: Sick family member, sick pet, lost job, car trouble, it goes on and on. The guy you’ve dealt with here is clearly freaked out because this thread will variably slow down if not entirely halt new down payments, which he desperately needs to finish work that was promised to others ages ago. With custom/sole proprietor work, the outcome is a gamble. I believe you handled this brilliantly. You were tolerant and gave him an entire year to get things right. The sooner this individual has a reckoning, the sooner he can learn and move on I hope.

If you saw the cue in half end to end you will fully understand the Pinoy way of doing things.
Curious, know you build quality.10 years maybe more a seller in Chicago sold me a davis cue, mu being a newbie thought it was a Joel Davis, nope it was a pinky Joel Davidas, dude who sold it made it right, he had no idea. The cues was pretty but it weighed nothing, it was odd. Appeared to be amboyna and Ebony but weight less than 18 oz

Life is super rough here in the Philippines, but the problem is these cue makers here that are selling at almost US prices should be doing well financially. So they shouldn't be needing to fk over there customers. With black pearl cues Al had a stroke, i fronted the son some money and he said he would build me something later. They were good to their words, i can say that. Never asked for advances on the production or anything. The
Al is amazing! I have a unbelievably beautiful butterfly from him
Same here, actually i messed up i have 3 players from him:p, all butterfly cues his specialty.

So I didn’t want to do this but he blocked me after coming at me so fk this guy

Jd messaged me last night after seeing this thread claiming that I destroyed his business and affected his family

Constantly saying but I have the cue right?

Yes I have the cue because of PayPal
I had to force him to do the job that I already paid in full for .
Thanks goodness for goods and services
After several times asking him to stop he finally did but when I seen he had blocked me that was all I could stand I’ll post the screen shots here soon

NEVER BUY FROM JD CUES
NO, He destroyed his business and affected his family.

I never bought anything in my life with regard to selling it. I’m
Only speaking for myself there’s no reason to sell my cues unless I want them gone. If I was a flipper and it is a business that’s different. I do have a number of production cues since 1998. They are in 99% condition that could be sold for more than they cost or I could break even. I have 2 customs. One I could get good money the other probably 50%.
I wasnt buying with thoughts of reselling either, just pointing out the value of a pinoy built cue goes down so fast compared to others.

In my experience, they all lose a great deal of value unless your willing to sit on it for 6months waiting to get what you want for it.

No experience with high end cues just the mid range 1500 cues custom and production

Never underestimate the power of a legitimate complaint made on AZB
I agree with this. I am only one person but i'm sure there are a ton of other examples.
When i was doing a ton of research back in may i had never heard of AZB, but it kept coming up in various google searches.
so i started reading these forums. When i realized there was people that have experience and knowledge, and that cue builders themselves are here i registered so could interact.
Azb has helped a lot. Both the posts showing praise and the negative reports serve a purpose. Although there are a lot of trolls that just like to argue. But meh its a forum, thats expected.
Keep in mind there are hundreds of non registered people reading all the time too.
Thanks
Dan
