Tomorrow I will be mailing out my deposit to Doug Patrick who will be making me a Custom Cue ... We have been talking back and forth all week and he has been super nice and great in responding to my emails and phone calls. I'm pretty excited about getting this done I have talked to other cue makers before deciding on Doug and all were very friendly and helpful. Has anyone here had a Patrick Cue or know of him or seen his work?

The cue he is making me will have a Wenge Forearm , Radial pin ... Ivory sleeve , from the butt plate up through the four points it will be done in Holly( White ) with a Ivory Butt plate ... It will have a black wrap with white speckles ... Just above the butt plate and before where the wrap starts will be 4 Razor Blade windows ...(My Cue termonolgoy is not that great...)... In those windows will be a medieval cross inlay done in turqious ... in the points will be the same cross inlays in turqious ... Boardering the points will be venners done in White , turqious then white again... Ring work will be placed in 5 places along the Cue ... The Cue will wiegh 19.5 oz .... And will come with two shafts ... one 29 inches long and one 30 inches long... With a SOFT Moori tip on each shaft ... I have also heard alot about the triangle tips does anyone have any info on them and a preference? He will be sending updates and pictures of my cue as he makes it ...

I have a friend Jeff Eason who makes cues and he made me a plain jane Sneaky Pete which hits like a dream and is a awesome cue that was exciting and I got to see it in various stages as we live in the same town but this will be the first cue that I had made with a design that I had alot of the input into ... It is exciting and I hope that this will not be the last custom cue I have made ... I have plans for more in the future but one thing at a time...

I hope to keep this thread updated as things progress .. If anyone has any input or advice please feel free to post it ... Always looking a great advise ...

Doesnt he post here also? I think I remember one of his cues a few weeks ago for sale and I'm not sure it ever sold but it was a very nice cue IMO. I dont know how they hit, but he makes some very nice looking cues. I would seriously consider him if I didnt have one being made right now.

I recently had the pleasure of meeting Doug at the DCC this year, and soon after he did a lil repair work on a cue of mine. Doug is a super nice guy and his work is very nice. I played with one of his cues for a short time and the hit was very nice.....good and solid. I plan on having Mr. Patrick build me a sneaky pete in the future. I believe you will be very pleased with your cue when you get it!

Patrick Cues ...

Well Doug got my deposit Wednesday just so happened I ran out the door for work and forgot my cell. He tried contacting me by phone and email . After work and then pool league I got a hold of my phone and returned Doug's call. He informed me that he recieved my deposit and the designs I drew up. I drew 4 options 2 of which were pretty detailed I figured they woud be near impossible to do as inlays and Doug told me they would take numerous patterns to get them right. I figured as much but not knowing how detailed you could get on a cue figured I would put them in there (Can't knock a guy for trying ..lol..). The other two were the same crosses only broke down into a more simpler outline. After talking to Doug we/I decided to go with the one option in the Butt Sleeve and the other option in the points. I was very happy he was able to get these on the cue for me ( The crosses that did not involve as much detail) Doug has been very cool to work with so far and we have swapped numerious emails discussing the cue and ideas between us.

I tought it was pretty cool that Doug called me as soon as he got my deposit and designs. So far he has been really cool to deal with and has answered all of my questions and worked to give me what I wanted and how I want my cue ... Constantly reminding me this is my Cue and it should be the way I want it. He asked me to call him back in 30 days to see where he was on the cue ... We have been emailing back and forth and running ideas over and over ...

I think Doug is getting ready for Valley Forge ... Wish I could be there it must be a awesome event.

Will update more as we progress...
