Had a guy just asked me a question and I'm only sorta' sure of the answer.

The built in ball counters are in the "rack" end of the table aren't they?

If they were in the "break" end they would be in the way...... Just checking, never use them.

i think they are there for stoned straight pool players. if you only run a few it is easier to count the collected balls then the ones on the table.

balls and counter close always made sense.

Having spent the majority of my life at the rack end of the table, I can confirm that the scorers are there. Sorry, can't say what is at the other end yet.
