"dream cue" & placebo effect

Good equipment

Good analogy and a big reason that fishing, for me, had at one time become a rather expensive hobby.

Just knowing though, that your Shimano Curado on that new Loomis rod, is going to deliver that six inch soft plastic worm to the exact spot where that hawg is waiting to ambush it and anything less than that is going to cause you to deliver it by the wrong brush pile and cause you to bring in a sack that is just a few hundredths of an ounce out of the money, is why you leave those cheap rods and reels at home in the hot water closet.

Confidence. Can't put a price on it.

Nut

You're right about that, that's why I use those darn Shimanos! Ha. I do think quality equipment goes along way when used with good mechanics and confidence whether it be in pool, fishing, golf, etc...

I just wish I could bring in a sack of fish that almost won the tournament, I'd be happy with that! Winning, well, I'm still dreaming! LOL! I'll keep plugging away! ha!

At one time, I had almost a 100 Titlist cues! It's not that they played better than any other cue, it was more like emotional and wanting a piece of history. The first cue I ever used as a kid in Chicago was a one-piece Titlist. Well I got over the emotions and have sold all but one! I prefer a Sneaky Pete now to actually play pool, and have about 16. I switch off and on as to which butt I'll use (depends on mood), but I mostly use the same shaft. There is only 29 inches of any cue stick that could affect my game!
