Dried out milk dud tip... solutions?

I have a milk dud tip on my cue that I absolutely love, but if I use denatured alcohol with a magic eraser on the cue the tip tends to dry out a bit. Do you all have any good tips as to how to restore a little softening to the tip?

Thanks in advance

put some masking tape around the tip before you clean will prevent the tip from getting wet. if it is dried out and you need to soften in up, you can try some neatsfoot oil. just a drop and then you have to let it try quite a bit before you can chalk it.

I use Leather Grease. Put a little bit of it on your finger, and move over the tip. Let it soak overnight, then use a willard to roughen up the surface.

Best regards,
