Dropping elbow too fast

I feel I have a problem. Some certain shots when I am close to the rail I realized that the forearm of my cue hits the rail after I follow through with the shot. I think the problem could be that my grip is too loose or my elbow is dropping to early. Please let me know of any questions or suggestions to solve this problem.

Thank you.

Patso44...You do have a problem. You need not drop your elbow at all...on any shots. It's a bad habit that doesn't pay any dividends. BTW, the elbow drop happens because you're overflexing your bicep, on the forward swing...and very likely, you're gripping too tightly, not too loosely. Find an instructor who uses video analysis to easily correct this problem.
