Dry tips

I bought a box of 25 Hercules layered tips, the first 3-4 were ok, but I
just one installed and when I scuff/shape it, it is really dry and flaky, almost powdery, like the tips dried out, anyone else experience this ? I keep them in original felt case they came in and inside my leather pool case pocket. Anyway to moisten or rehydrate ?

try the same procedure as the snooker guys do. put them in the microwafe for a few seconds. But watch out they will come out really hot!
