Dufferin cues

In looking at custom cue maker websites, some of them say that they use Dufferin blanks or recondition Dufferins as a component in the manufacture of their cues.

Are the Dufferins, especially those made in Canada, superior?

I have a 10 year old Dufferin cue, which would need some adaptation to attach its butt to my Universal Smart shaft, which currently has the butt from a $30 Players.

Would the Dufferin butt be superior?

The prime reason that I could see would be the fact that their cues were very inexpensive and made of decent quality rock maple. Not sure if they would be as cheap to get a hold of now but back in the day a dufferin rack cue could be had for $10 or so.

I use to love playing with Dufferin house cues back in 80's and early 90's.
The hit very solid for a house cue. You can't compare a cheapo Valley cue to one of them. One of the places I have played here have a house cue called Knights or something. It is a super solid house cue, I might try to acquire one somehow.

I'm looking for a Dufferin sneaky pete cue without collars and nobody has one. I've asked several times on here and all around and no response. I had one for years as an extra playing cue and the butt broke so if I can't find one I might have a cuemaker fit a new butt end to 2 of the shafts I have.
I agree with other people they are superior to Valleys or the Nick Varner house cues out there. The old Dufferins were made in Canada and I tihnk just about all house cues are now made in China with little quality controls.

Best Avatar Ever

On another topic that might be the best pool/billiard avatar I have ever seen. Maybe I should look for something like this.

That's my lucky cue, it's very lucky.

I got some similar themed ones on my desktop, I might use here, but this one is pretty nice.

Does Al Romero

make dufferin jointless sneaky pete's? I know of a local player that has what you describe. I think he said it was made by Al Romero in Bellflower,Ca. I'm not positive-been a couple years ago.
