It's a clear copy right infringement to me. All that has to be proven is that they can be confused for the real thing, and several posters have already stated that. How'd you like to own one of the originals and have your buddy at the pool hall pull out his knock off, and tell everyone he stole it on ebay for 200.00. Why can't the Chinese come up with there own designs.
I don't mind them making cues, but using some one's designs to make their cues more marketable sucks. Not only did they copy Richards one sided veneers, but the even tried to copy the ring pattern.
Well I believe Bert Schreger made the first Six Pointer, and now a lot of cue builder are doing Six Pointer, have they ripped off Bert? Also you point about why the Chinese can not come up with a good design is a good one.
Was it not J&J who copied one of Ernie Guiteriez, GINA DESIGN with Decals, and sold them on e-bay for a hundred bucks.
The CHINESE, and others from Off Shore, Mexico ETC. Will continue to rip of, and counterfeit products until the U.S. Customs Service has the MAN POWER to stop the counterfeit from coming in the USA. Right now Terrorist, and Bombs are more important than stopping the flow of fake Gucci Purses.
BTW many Counterfeit NFL, NBA, MLB, etc. product are being produced in our own country.
It is all about money, and our own forum Member Jack Justis recently licensed a Chinese company to build the Justis West Cases. A less expensive of the Cases Jack builds in Florida. Guess that is how Jack decided to find the knock off guys.
Visit any Mexican border Town with lots of Tourist traffic, and you will find Counterfeit NFL, MLB, NBA, Rolex Watches, Oakley Glasses, Gucci Purses, etc. etc. etc. For Sale, and for the most part the Customs Agents let the Tourists being back the knock offs with no hassle.
BTW has any one advised Mr. Chudy of the knocks offs labeled Dufferin of China?
