I hate UPS with a passion. I could probably set up a website about all the numerous ways they have screwed up. They have managed to find some way to screw up on virtually every shipment I've ever had to send with them (not by choice) and received (also not my choice).

If there is a way that is possible to screw up, UPS will find it.
