Dynamo for Global?

Hi all. I recover tables as my side job. I take care of several bars. One place has two 8' Global tables that are in great condition. They are doing some rearranging and mentioned that they would like a 7 footer. I told them that I have a 7' Dynamo and they are interested in a trade, straight across. First question is, are Globals well known and of good quality? Would this be a good trade? The other is, I play league on 7 footers. Will having an 8 at home affect playing on 7 footers elsewhere? I understand about the congestion on smaller tables, so would a bigger table help or hurt? I'm kind of pumped about this but would appreciate any input from your pool of knowledge. Thanks again, David.

Longer shots on bigger tables will improve your stroke. As a rule the transition from bigger to smaller is easy. Not so from small to big. Best practice would be big table with tight pockets going to bb with big pockets. To simulate the crowding smaller playing surface of bar boxes, I put all balls on one end of big table and play under those tighter conditions. Things happen better on a big table and your target areas are larger. Less congestion. If your home table is a typical furniture style with slow cloth and big pockets, you won't gain as much as with a nice Diamond or Gold Crown with fast cloth and tighter pockets. As in many things in life, everything is a trade off. Most important is time at the table and shooting lots of balls. Do drills, just don't smack balls around. Consider lessons. Read books. Watch videos. In general you will improve all your life. How fast you improve to higher levels is up to you. Play the better players every chance you get.
