earl and bustas missed same shot

a few weeks ago i posted a thread bout the object ball and cue ball both frozen on rail and how tough it would be to pocket the object ball , ,long story short i saw bustamante miss that shot too , then i saw earl today with similiar shot and missed as well i , i just thought intresting to myself and i think all those that replied to my thread will see this post and say the same. this is more like a deja vu thread ..

It's one of those scenarios where your options are frequently limited. Nobody likes the position and if you're goal is to get straight on the ball, it's going to happen from time to time. I have to say, out of all my years playing pool, it hasn't come up much.

You must have been watching the World Championships today - right?

According to a book I read a looooong time ago, Earl should have used a little right english on that shot, which would cause the cueball to leave the rail just a little and then drift back in time to contact the object ball.

yes exactly right! i saw it on tv today and yes he didnt english it ,all the guys here advised me on this shot so now i kno better lol...
 
Because most of this players aren't just trying to pocket the ball, most of the time they're trying to position the cue ball for the next. This makes some easy shots a little more complicated.

This isn't an easy shot. Nobody likes this one.
