He has been in the One Pocket here at Derby City before as well. It's one of the great things about having a prestigious all-around tournament format, because the all-around award draws players into games they might otherwise skip. And who knows, they might even come to like the game, eventuallybud green said:Is this the first time Earl has entered a one pocket event? I can't remember him ever playing the game in any tourneys. I know he plays in 14.1 events occasionally, but not one pocket.
Anyone watch him play?
That's an interesting insight into Earl's preferences. He obviously has no truck for moves or safety play, but rather is focused purely on running balls. I think that's pretty much the case with most good nine ball players.1pocket said:Last year at the Carolinas Open I heard Earl say that if they played a short rack version of One Pocket (just nine or ten balls), he would play more often, and he thought other players would too.
