Early It's George on Ebay.

I've seen that cue before. It's a real nice cue!

Thanks for the post! Do you know any history on this cue? Year of production? Did you read the descriptionon on Ebay; did I accurately describe the cue?

Thanks,
Bill

I own an It's George very close to this cue. Birdseye front, ebony points and sleeve, and the same pink ivory/ivory/pink ivory stacked inlays that are offset in the sleeve in this cue are in the points and sleeve in my cue. I can verify the dates given as well as around 91 or 92.

Underrated cues...I still have the two original shafts with original ferrules, shafts still straight.

I Had To Do It!
Nice cue, I dont blame you one bit. I had planned on bidding but I thought it ended later. I was a small time dealer with It's George back in the early 90's and have their dealer price list and cue brochure. The cue you purchased is not in the brochure, however there are several similar cues. Being that the cue was very early production, it might have been in an earlier brochure or changes might have been made to the cue. I have one of their "Widow's" cues #1353 that I purchased new from them. The cue is all original and plays great. I'm not sure how many cues they made but they were out of the cue business shortly after I bought the cue. Enjoy the cue. Still looking for another it's George, Dave

Here's A Little History I Have Found Out Bill Schick Basicly Made The 1st 10 To 15 Cues Himself.bill Schick And Wayne Anderson Left The Company When The Cues Where In The #1200 To #1300 Range.this Cue Is A Prototype That They Couldn't Decide If They Wanted To Have It In The Brochure Or Not.and The 1st 15 To 20 Cues Had The Hand Etched Logo(notice It Is The Same As Bill Signs His Cues) On The Top Of The Buttcap Were All The Rest Had Them Printed On The Bottom.

Shoot I Wish I Could But I Have A Brand New 05 Paul Mottey With 20 Pcs Of Ivory That I Am Selling And A O4 Gilbert With Ivory Inlays That I Am Selling To Make My Cc Company Happy:)

I usually never get involved in these sort of posts, but I have to weigh in on this . I was one of the very early dealers for It's George cues and Bill never built a cue labled It's George. Bill Schick helped Mike Roberts and crew set up shop, buy supplies and gave guidance to Wayne et all. Mike Wheeler came into the picture in the very early stages and is responsible for the playablilty and enduring construction quality of these great cues. I'm still amazed at how well these cues hold up and how well they play. For years people have used Bill's name to pump up the desireability of these cues and he just grins when asked about it. I don't intend to knock the cue or anyone envolved, just think people should let the cues stand on they're own merit.

Not trying to get this thread out of control, but......

Wayne Anderson has told me face to face that HE actually had his hands in some of Bill's projects in the early days of It's George when Bill was still 'helping them get set up'. So, moreso than if you had an early It's George where you could say Bill Schick made most of the cue, it could also be said that if you had a Bill Schick from the same era that it was actually made by It's George.

BUT WHO F**K**G CARES!!! If you have an It's George and you're happy with the playability and design or if you have a Schick and you're happy with the playability and design, then you have a nice cue no matter how you look at it. And because both cues are rare, they each have their own individual values that are pretty high in relationship to what they originally sold for.

Bill Schick recently told me that all he did for It's George was set up the equipment and assisted them in the learning process....and he built only one cue, labeled it 'It's George by Schick' and it went to a collector in Asia.
