Here is a 70’s Joss East made by Dan Janes. This cue has 4 short spliced ebony points with 4 veneers into birdseye maple with 2 MOP dots and a MOP notched diamond in each point. The butt sleeve is ebony with 2 cocobolo rings and 6 cocobolo boxes surrounded by veneers, each having a MOP notched diamond. The finish on the forearm is in great shape. There are some minor dings/dents in the butt sleeve near the butt cap. The white with black spec Irish linen wrap appears to have been never cleaned. The joint and shaft collars have stitch deco rings. I would rate the condition at 90%, which is not bad for a 35+ year old cue. Here is a great chance to own an early Joss that was made when Danny still made true custom cues. The specs are:

Butt: 16.16 ounces, 28 1/2 inches. Butt is straight. The white delrin cue has “Joss” logo in block letters.

Shaft 1: 3.90 ounces, 12.62 mm, 28 1/2 inches. Shaft has a dent that can be steamed out and has nice patina. The shaft rolls pretty straight.

Shaft 2: 3.74 ounces, 12.58 mm, 28 1/2 inches. Shaft has been used less, rolls pretty straight, and also has a nice patina.

The balance point with the lighter shaft is 18 ½ inches from the butt. This cue hits very solid as most early Joss cues do.

This cue is now on eBay at a very low opening bid:

Steal on a late 70's Joss here. Joss does not make and has not made cues like this in over 30 years!
