I'm making this thread because I've seen a LOT of bad things about this guy on this forum. I recently bought a butt that was in less than tip top shape (and I knew it beforehand) but came in worse than I expected, possibly due to the very cold weather here. I was compensated generously for it by FeltMaster who sold it to me, so a thanks to him.
I recently sent an email to Jeff Eason to see if he would repair it. Based on what I had read here specifically about his bad service, I expected him to deny service or charge a lot. The problems: roll in the tip with a straight shaft, very slight wobble on the pin, butt's taper was messed up and it was thickest in the middle which probably added to the tip roll, and finish was messed up. Here was his response:
I remember him saying things about what learning, making mistakes but then denying responsibility and getting emotional. However, if you are nice to him, he seems like a genuinely nice guy too. I am not sure what to expect when I get the cue back, but I will update this accordingly.
