ebay feedback

when you buy something on ebay, should you wait until you leave feedback to get yours? I think not! I've been burned on feedback before and never leave it until I recieve mine either way anymore. I bought something on ebay and the seller says he'll leave feedback after he's sure we're both happy with the purchase...is this right? I always thought the seller should leave it based upon: 1. did they pay
2.how quickly

the seller whould receive feedback based upon: 1. is the product what they said it is?
2.is the condition what they described?

am I wrong here, or has feedback gotten to be an (when I get mine first) issue.

Nobody is obliged to leave feedback. There have been times when I didn't leave it because I didn't want to.

I've often left no feedback rather than having to leave negative feedback.

Typically the seller doesn't leave feedback till the buyer does.

Always seemed ass backward to me. The buyer sends off money/paypal promptly after the auction is won but waits days or weeks for feedback after the seller received payment. Guess the seller wants a chance to retaliate if the buyer posts negative feedback.

If you leave negative feedback first, expect to get negative feedback even tho the other side screwed up.

u leave feedback when u feel like doing so..
but if transaction went smoothly, there's no reason y feedback shouldn't be given..
don't wait for each other to leave feedback 1st..just give the other party what he deserves :p

Makes perfect sense for either one to post positive feedback if the other did their part.

There's always the option of responding to negative feedback (which I've never received, nor given, although I've definitely let a seller know that I will post it if necessary) if the other person is unreasonable.

Be sure to keep a copy of all emails, preferably in one thread.

My way

As a seller I leave positive feedback as soon as I have received payment for the item. As a buyer I leave positve feedback as soon as I receive the advertized merchandise. I have yet to have any problems and hope that every one of my transactions remain problemm free.

I try to only buy from sellers with great feedback for starters. read their feedback from the last few months to get a better feel for the seller and ask them questions just to see how they respond.

Me too exactly Kev - :) If the other side fulfills their obligation I feel that I should take the time to give positive feedback. Have had zero problems so far......................Jigger

I only leave feedback if the other person does so first. Otherwise, I won't bother.

one thing about not leaving feedback right away.. some people get mad and leave the person who waited a neg or neutral cause they took so long or never left any.. i aways look at peoples feedbacks.. even bidders when they arent the highest.. i look at peoples feedback on bidders that are bidding on something i may have an interest in buying.. you can learn alot of from it.. i have yet to get a negative.. my most popular positive comment from buyers is "FAST SHIPPING". sometimes, i would like to get.. greats prices..lol.. ahh.. as long as its positive.. life is good.. and i will never sell anything on ebay unless i describe it 100% and have good pics.. even people that stick me as a seller.. i would rather not leave feedback for because no feedback is far better then the negative. thats another thing.. you cant really say who has an advantage.. because the seller even though he got quick payment can leave a negative , and the buyer can leave a negative without ever even attempting to send the money...

ooh yeah.. one more thing.. a few years back before they made it easy to leave feedback for older auctions.. i used to wait to the 90th day before the auctions cycled off to leave bad buyers negatives..lol.. kinda the last stick for giving you the shaft by not sending payment and then they couldnt retaliate.. but now.. i believe you can leave feedback well past 90 days.. as long as you know the item number.. i dont remember where.. but somewhere burried deep in ebay is the place to do it..

actually, yes I want others to see what kind of seller I really am. I pretty much go out of my way to try to describe everything I'm selling. when I buy, I try to communicate quite often. it makes me feel re-assured I'm getting my item. just the things I do sometimes.
