Can someone tell me how to check to see if an eBay auction is a fraud or not (e.g., whether the eBay username has been hijacked or not)?

Is there a way that eBay can verify a seller's identity?

Not really. You can write customer service and report what you might think is an identity theft. They will then investigate and cancel the auction if that is the case.

I have reported numerous fraudulent auctions and they are usually cancelled within 24 hours now.
