Ebay Meucci Originals....

The seller has no clue about pool or the cue.
Quote: It is a light colored wood, and wrapped with a thin rope like material. Marked Meucci Original on the top.

Looks like a very early Meucci. I've only seen 1 or 2 with a piloted joint. Very rare, but I don't know if I could pull the trigger without more details...

You weren't kidding it really is in decent shape. The pilot on the joint intrigues me though..wonder how it plays

I am sure it plays lights out. Most of the Meucci Originals play good.

:boring2:

Well maybe. Not all Originals play good. Some play better than others.

Depends on the shaft and not all the stainless steel joints played all that good.

Some shafts were way too whippy.

I like the old shafts as long as they weren't too whippy and just around 12.80-13mm.

Most of the old ferrules cracked and replaced with who knows what material.

And when the old ferrules did crack, the cue repair guy almost always turned the tenon down to 5/16 of an inch. Sometimes the length was made shorter. This all effects the hit.

Didn't always play lights out after that.

And by the way...there were probably 4 different rubber bumpers used in Meucci cues...not two. At least the new ones can be trimmed down to fit any Meucci.

Funny thing back in the 1970's...the Meucci cues played good at first; but once you removed the rubber bumper then put it back in, it was never quite the same.

Kind of felt like all the air was let out of it.

Mo-5 gone again

really wanted more info on this MO-5 even tho sold, and got this back.

message about VINTAGE MEUCCI ORIGINAL POOL CUE, TWO PIECE, CASE, 57 3/4 INCHES

Item: 201039805607

In answer to your questions about the Meucci Original - the auction ended Wednesday pm, and winning bidder immediately wanted cancellation of the sale and did not want to purchase the cue.

So the sale did not go through. The winning bidder then offered half price which was turned down.

The family who owns it, (who are the original and only owners) took re-possession of it and are storing it.

There was too much controversy and accusations about this cue to continue to try and sell it now.

It won't be offered for sale again until it's been professionally authenticated and appraised. And then most likely it will be sold through a resource other than eBay, or privately.

If I was the owner I would have the cue restored and then try and sell it. They probably would get more money for it if it was restored.
