ebay seller question.

He didn't get to be a power seller by ripping people off. 3128 feedbacks and 3 negatives is pretty damn good.

Anyone ever dealt with this guy? His prices seem good but I have emailed him asking a few questions and he has not answered. Some of it seems too cheap.

Macguy,

I purchased an item from them sometime back, and received It without any problems. The most I will use at this time in a cue is a short splice maybe, the same as if It were just a plain forearm, and won't buy the whole butt assembled unless possibly in a fullsplice bar butt maybe, so that stuff is no good to me, even as easy as they would be to finish one of those prebuilt butts. I did try a piece of the billet that was madeup, and the billet was alright, but spacing not perfect, so really only good for some s. petes I am building, but does do something extra for the looks of them. In all fairness to the seller, I did not contact them on the spacing, so have no idea if they are all like that or not, and I did receive the item in a reasonable amount of time. Other then that I can't tell you much about the other stuff, I did get some of the splines by theirselves also, and they seemed fine. saves the hassle of cutting them before slotting the billet to accept them. I'm sure the harware, and all they have is fine also, but I have other sources for that stuff, and have been making mods to them lately anyhow. I have made my own inserts before, and thinking about trying to turn a few pins by scratch at some point for the experience of it.

If your worried about receiving your item if you win, you should be alright, as I received mine that time, It has been a while since I won it though, they have had that stuff up for a while, and It's been selling, so the must have really been stock piled. Good Luck with it, Greg

He's a good guy. I know him from my Northern Ohio days. I've bought rings and threaded joints recently and got them no problems whatsoever.

Yeah, he got the stuff to me pretty quickly considering how many auctions he had go down at the time, and I am sure he would have exchanged the billet had I asked. It was not that bad, so did'nt seem worth while to bother with. I am doing some conversion type stuff right now, and It looks pretty good in that anyway, so figured I could live with it. The other cues I build from scratch, I would prefer using My own billet to keep it original anyhow, but It worked for what I wanted it for.

Those threaded joints, I was wondering, know what they are made from by any chance? I saw them, but could'nt figure out from the descrption last time I saw It.

I bought a spool of linen and some joints from him about a month ago and he combined shipping and got them to me very quickly. He was a good guy to deal with.

I was just curious about the quality, it seem too cheap. He sells 3/8 x 10 screws 8 for $9.99. Thats is like two feet of screw for $9.99 and he has to pay ebay fees and still make a profit. I wasn't worried about not getting the items just the quality.

Not sure about the pins, I noticed that before also. It does seem pretty cheap. Who knows they could be good. They might still be raw and need polishing. If you try them out by some chance, and they're any good, please let me know. I am low on 3/8, only have a couple, and will need to get some more of those soon.

He bought all this stuff at a close out and in one lot that's why I don't think he's too worried about the small stuff being cheap. Those fingure jointed butts are cheap, probably not much figure in the birds eye. That is the same method Joss uses btw. I'll try to find out where the stuff came from.
CueCrazy the joints are some type of implex I think. PM your address and I'll send you one if you want to check them out.

In other words the good deals will come to an end at some point.

Thanks for the offer Andy, that's very kind of you sir. I was just wondering how strong, and hard the material was, and figured I'd ask, since you tried some out yourself. Maybe I'll just pick a few up from him. thinking I can use some of those pins anyway.

I noticed those finger joints also, and joss was the first that came to my mind when i saw them. The design of the inlayed butts look more like a meucci to me though. Did they ever do a finger joint? I have worked on originals, found purple heart hidden under the wrap on some, but never found a finger joint in one. I have'nt been under the wrap on any newer then those yet, so don't know what all they did since then.

Anyway Thanks again for the offer, If I can ever be of help to you, just let me know.

Greg
