Sorry if this is in the wrong section but I was looking around ebay for the usual bs when I saw a Viking cue listed for $1,000,000. I included the link below. My guess would be that it is something along the lines of a salesman's cue that would show the variety of materials you could order when ordering a custom cue. This thing really looks like a cue made for rainbow bright.. but it could be rare. Who knows, but I figured it was interesting enough to post. Who knows. It could be something a collector may have been looking for. Enjoy.

how can this be rare? its mostly 1 inch sections of different coloured wraps. it doesn't even look like it can be used as a cue. this is a joke auction. i've seen nice cues go for crazy prices, but this is extreme by several orders of magnitude. maybe the guy accidentally hit '0' too many times and somehow didn't realize what had happened. or it is stolen by a dumb thief who thought that us pool guys are dumber than he is.

Stolen? or given away as a white elephant present?

I was taken aback by the auction because he specifically says that it isn't for sale.. he just wanted info. Never have I ever seen somebody go through the actions of paying to post an auction on ebay just for info. Definitely odd, but hey, some people's garbage is... um.. well.. other people's garbage as well. :) But again, you never know. There could be that Viking collector with a spot in his or her display case for such a cue. Who knows. Ryan

P.S. Please note that I am not the seller on this one and have no idea who is.

If memory serves, Viking did offer these for general sale...I believe they referred to it as their 'Sampler' cue. It basically showed the different stain, pearl, and wrap options (colors) available through Viking cues. Nothing uber-special about it beyond that.

What he did on Ebay is similar to what players do in the imaginary economy of an online world of ...lets say... World of Warcraft. If you have something you just want to kick it out there for everyone to see but have no intention of selling it... then you post it for an obscene price, which is exactly what he's doing. He's mainly just hoping to find out what it is and what its worth this way.

It is a demo cue showing the customization options. From what I have heard from dealers is that they were a non production cue, given only to dealers as a demo to sample hit and sample. I have one bought it for $500 neat collector item good history, and american made.
