I just got a custom Pechauer. The cue is 59 inches long; has predator and pechauer shafts with matching ring work; black linen wrap; ebony with ivory inlays; ivory joint with a pechauer quick release pin; duralite butt-cap; custom taper; linen ferrule on the pechauer; and moori tips. I haven't hit the pechauer shaft yet. Still getting used to the predator, which will probably take a while. Tempted to try the pechauer shaft, but I want to see if I can stick with the predator until I figure it out.

The design started out as a PL-08, which I then made many changes to. I'm very happy with the end result. The people at Pechauer did a fine job of taking my basic design ideas, and making a complete cue out of it all. Its a bit nerve wracking coming up with a design, and ordering a cue that you've never seen or played.

Under the light, when you can see the grain and sheen of the materials, it is a beautiful cue...assuming you like tuxedo style cues.

cheers,
jer9ball

Very nice cue indeed. I usually don't like ebony/ivory cues but that is pretty. I am starting to like the diamonds/circles above each point look. Saw some in Januarys cue calendar like that. Nice work

What is "Januarys cue calendar" UWPG1?

I meant the January month of the Cue Calendar that is out. Don't remember off the top of my head who's cues are on that page..but they are nice.

Barkley Custom Cues :D

Thanks for the kind comments. The McDaniel resemblance is not completely a coincidence, since I really like his designs. My favorite design of his is the horseshoe cue. Pechauer made an ebony-ivory III limited edition cue (currently one on ebay) that is somewhat similar to the one I had made.

Hi jer9ball,

Question, how many did you pay for this nice Cue ?

Hi Rob. Well, that's kind of a personal question! :) The base PL-08 that this started out as, sells for around $1200. The Pechauer ebony and ivory III limited edition cue (has more details and features than my cue), sells for somewhere over $3000. Mine is in between those two price points. And in my opinion, worth every penny. I'm having alot of fun playing with this cue.

Hi jer9ball,

Sorry, but do not understand me wrong. You´ve really an great Cue and I must say that I´m a little bit envious (hm, i hope this is the right word). So thanks for the orientation of the price what this cue costs. You can be proud of your Cue.

Best regards

Rob

Thanks Rob! :) Cue design is definitely all about individual tastes and preferences. Some like them simple, some elaborate. It takes all types. I shopped around for months before deciding to get something custom. That way it is exactly what you want. I've taken some heat at our local pool hall for not having the game to back up the cue. Ha ha ha. I could care less. So what if that expensive cue only plays $20 matches! :)

nice pole, i also have a modified PL08, i went with a stainless joint and leather wrap though. mine, as well as your i am sure, really turns head in the pool hall. took awhile to get it but worth the wait. i was surprised at how much better it looked once i got it then the pics of the PL08.
