Somewhere between $950 and a $1050 for that cue! If it had, 13 mm shafts may be $1100.

I was gonna offer $1200 if it had 13mm shafts. I want it. Lol.

One with fancier rings just sold on eBay, for $1025 and it had 13 mm shafts.

yes, but it was cocobola not ebony, but I think it still had Joe's trademark 30 silver stitches. I think the shafts were refinished and a hair under 13mm. I emailed the seller last week. I would have bought it, but I was in class at the time. :(

It had extra silver rings above and below the 30 stitches. That's what I mean by fancier rings.

Having hit with the Cognoscenti Shane is selling and a cocobola one he had before that. My opinion is that the cocobola Cognoscenti's aren't up to snuff with the ebony players. I have an old Kersenbrock that hits almost identically to Shane's ebony Cog. It may have smaller shafts but they are very stiff and have very good feedback. Whoever buys this cue won't be disappointed.

The auction you are referring to was a little suspect IMHO. Plus the guy only took a personal check or money order which hurts the final selling price.
Shane sold his cocobola one with 13mm shafts on eBay a while ago for $1325. You can see the link here.

the link you put up shows, two shafts, one brand-new!!!! And joint protectors! That can be the difference in price. It also had the newer and fancier rings. Two months ago I sold one for $2200. You can't compare them. Maybe it had better wood! Some people will pay a premium for that!

CueFlesh

Bump to the top for a very nice cue. Ebony Cogs are destined to become all time classics.

*** Utah poolplayers are known to have excellent taste in "cueflesh." :)

Thanks for the kind words, Keith.

It's true, we are very superficial here in Utah. As long as the cue looks good, who cares if one can make a ball w/ it, right?:D

Just kidding. There are so many good hitting cues out there, one can afford to be a little picky as to the cue's look. But you're right about Cogs, they are excellent cues.

Andy,

Thanks for the bump.

I think I might have broken a knuckle hitting the heavy bag yesterday.
