Eddie built this cue per my specs. I like this cue alot, although the orginal tips I had him install on it were too hard. I was having them replaced by a local gentleman and i believe he left it in his car over night , the long and short of it is that the Ivory joint cracked. I returned it to Eddie and he replaced it as well as the tips i sent with it and he did it in a quick turn around and with the upgraded tips it plays in hand with my Searing or my JR.
Eddie was a pleasure to deal with and he provided exactly what i requested in a timely manner. In honesty i have delt with a dozen cue makers over the years and all have been gentleman but all have not been timely. I dont believe that Eddie turns out that many cues as he works and I can not speak to his inlays or points but I would not be relucktant to order such a cue from him.

Eddie does work a full time job and does cues in his spare time. He makes less than 20 cues per year and he makes cues for 'players'. He does make prongs but shys away from inlays. I can't safely speak for him, but I think he is more interested in playability than anything.

The most appealing thing about his cues in my opinion is his shaft wood and taper. The second thing is the integrity of construction in his process. I have learned a few things from Eddie and try to let the example he's provided reflect in my cues. He is a local guy and if he were to tap into the world-wide market people would be shocked. I don't think the word fancy exists in his vocabulary. It is playability all the way (which I respect deeply) when it comes to Eddie. I feel fortunate to have learned from such an intelligent and talented crafter.

I am glad to hear about your fine experience and know you will enjoy your cue.

I have an Eddie Ferris cue and I assure you his points take 2nd place to none. It is definately a players cue but it is also one of the finest cues I have seen. I am still impressed every time I look at it.

I own a Searing and a JR as well as the Farris and i get more looks at the Faries, probably because the curly maple is so sweet, and it does play.
