Efren was born 8/26/54 and the announcers said he was about to turn 50. So, if my math is correct, it was the 2003 US Open. JJ won in 2003.
And yeah, that washed out overhead camera shot was unwatchable. Something in the download must have gone awry.
But what a great match. I was shocked Bustie - when he was on the hill - went for that 1-7 carom. He had a wall of blockers to safe off. He never shot again.
Wassup with the side action table?
BTW, the "side action" table there, I never heard of that before. Was that on a table outside the main room?
If that wasn't a gambling match, but instead simply another US Open match, why would they call it a side action table? Can anyone elaborate on this?

I'm not making a statement about the quality of the commentary itself, which was insightful and interesting as always. But I definitely noticed a bit of slurring there.
