is there a problem between these two fine players, if yes, what is the problem? the us needs to see more of alcano with his fine playing and balls to play with his own money - when he has some. which is more than ive seen or heard efren do, that is put out his own money.

Wait a minute I dont think you know too much about Efren. He has put up his own money and life on the line when he left his home to come to where the greatest pool players are to challenge them in their own rooms. Living in a motel room playing $20 sets of nine ball to eat and send back money to his family in the Phillipines.
But tell me what professional athletes who have reached the highest standards in their field ever put up their own money. Do you think Ali or Jordan or Bonds put up their own money every time they step up to a challenge. We are not talking about Minnesota Fats or Titanic Thompson. We are talking about Efren Reyes in the 21st century who has changed the face of the sport. Snooker Champs have whole clubs backing them up in match play. Maybe thats what we should be doing to raise the standard of play. You know some club backing up their Dee Adkins, Troy Frank, Shannon Daulton against Charlie Williams, Ginky, Tony Robles, or a Scott Frost, Tony Chohan, from the West Coast. Im talking about bigger money than money out of your own pocket. Besides why should you risk your own cash when guys are standing outside your door willing to risk their millions to back you up. This is the same thing as when guys give Schwarzenneger or Bruce Willis tens of millions of dollars to star in their films. You think they would ever think of putting up their own cash to produce the film. Nobodys that stupid.
Oh yeah Im dying to see Alcano myself

sir: changing the face of pool - thats going way to far - i watched efren play wetch in olathe, kansas, giving jimmy the 7 ball for lousy couple thousand dollars, who put up the money for efren- not efren - mark b. - who put up the moneyfor jimmy - jimmy had half his own up. when you have money, put your own up and spend the winnings yourself. feel the pressure when that doubt creeps in and maybe you miss. but as far as i can tell that wont happen to efren, unless he betas his own. good day

i would rather watch parica bet his - any time of the day. same goes for alscano - hell of a player - nice that he beat your hero in manila, a short time ago.

I don't know much about Alcano but I've seen Efren play many times. I haven't seen a player with more class and who is more genuinely liked by the other players as much as him. How do you know Efren doesn't play with his own money? Of course the odds are he's pooling his money with his friends but probably more to give them some "cocoa" than to worry about risking his own money. I've seen him in Reno and guys with a lot of money have played him just to say they played him. I watched one of these guys and he gladly lost over $3 K to him. That was easy money for Efren and I'll bet he gave his friends some of the money. How many US players would do that? It's a Filipino thing to share with your friends and family. You should try to check him out live some time and see how the other players treat him, and I'm not just talking Filipino players either.

I'd like to see efren play. He has alot of class and I have a huge amont of respect for him both as a player and an individual. If I could afford it I'd give away some money just to say I played him.

I've heard that also. I'm a horrible chess player though. I tried it growing up. It never really caught on.
