Wheww..
The match between in Efren and Fong Fang Chao,
will go into the books as one of the classics.
The score goes like this first there is tie of 1-1
then efren miss the break and Chao rack up 3 straight racks
for the score of 4-1 then Efren breaks and win it for
4-2 then Chao turn to break was dry and Efren Capitalizes
on it and wins and as well as his next break for 4-4 all
then 5-5 all...then Chao spirited away from the tie to
go to almost on the hill for 9-5 and guess what its
even Chao's break for the 10-5 but guess what Chao
sanks 2 balls on the break plus the CB...and the crowd
sees an opportunity for Efren then Efren spirited away
for 9-9 all from almost extinction then its Chao's break
but he came on dry then efren with magical shot after shots
take the lead for 10-9 and on the hill...then it is his break
for the match..but unfortunately he came dry on his break
and the 1 ball is not puttable but Chao came up with one
magical shot of his own on a bank shot and very gutsy shot but
unfortunately the next 2 is not in good position...then
he opt for a safety and guess what he's safety was not too
good and efren is more than happy to capitalize and wins the
match and the title for US $ 10,000 ...and crowd went crazy..!!!
I did not tape the match unfortunately because the last time
i tape the Singapore leg, the result was black and white...but
they will have a replay and i will be looking for a VHS recorder
that could result on colored picture....wheeww..that
was a match..
You gotta see it Chao for me has nothing to be ashame of it
and he's shot was just so precise and methodical if not
surgical..in fact he only miss twice ...and efren miss once
except that he also misses many breaks...Efren was always
trailing on the match not until the 9-9 score and after..

Bay Joseph nindot gyud bay you gotta see it..

It sounded like a fantastic match indeed, Efren seems to always play well in Asia, but then again Efren seems to play well reguardless of where he is!

And to think that someone thought that he was over the hill and even predicted that he won't win a tournament this year. ;)

I guess with consecutive wins at the DCC and the Singapore and Vietnam legs of the Asian 9-Ball, 2004 is turning out to be Efren's lucky year!

I hope to get a copy of this match sooooon.
A friend of mine will come through, I hope. :-)
He will be here for a visit.

Congrats to Efren. It was pretty cool to see him on Sportscenters top 10 monday night as well. One big leap for pool.

It was really unbelievable for Efren to come back from 9-5 and win the tournament. Considering that it was in alternate break format. I would definitely watch this over and over again. The whole match there were only 2 misses, 1 each from efren and chao

If any of you guys get a copy of this match please let me know, I will make a trade or buy the match for a fair price.
