Efren's Break

Something we noticed at the WPC last year was that Efren was not 'gripping' the cue on his break shots. His hand was relaxed and he was hitting the break shot with the same relaxed back hand that he was shooting any other shot with. I had never seen anyone do that before. When it was noted during commentary a lot of the other players came out for their next matches and broke with a relaxed hand. And it worked. I don't remember who it was, but one of the players remarked that it made sense because you could move your arm more quickly with a relaxed hand, thus get more power.

Hell, Efren doesn't even practice. He just plays money games. Even twenty dollar one-pocket games.
He lost that match against Gabe Owen at the Bike because he did not make a ball in his 5 breaks.

Even the GREAT BABE RUTH (Baseball Player) Struck out once in a while. ;)

Efren wins against the kid from Taiwan.

Down by 3 at 10-7 with Wu on the hill. Efren did the magic and run 5 racks in a row to win by 2 racks.

He was very lucky indeed. He had 4 dry breaks. He is now waiting on who to take on between Yang Ching Shun (TWN) and Satoshi Kawabata (JPN).

Will keep the board posted.
