Efren's Rotation High Run

I have a friend who is from the Phillipines and he is very good friends with Efren. He told me that Efren's high run in rotation is 8 racks broke and ran consecutively. He is not the type of person that makes up stories. I don't think anyone will ever come close to beating that record. That's gotta be equivalent to running 600-700 balls in straight pool in the level of difficulty I'm guessing. That's just sick. I think that's gotta be the greatest accomplishment in the history of pool, anyone else think so?

He's mistaken. Fast Larry Gunninnggrrgrgerer (I might have misspelled that) holds the world record with 5 consecutive racks.

i heard something like that too. does that mean efren pocketed a ball on all 8 breaks and continued from there, or was it ball in hand after the break if he didn't drop a ball?

So, did he run the entire rack in rotation, or get to 62 and stop to re-rack the balls?

I did watch Efren in Philly, run a full rack in rotation, then switch hands and do it AGAIN lefty!!!.....He did glance my way when I said "HOLY CRAP" a little too loud, then he just smiled and kept practicing.:)...Gerry

A great accomplishment? Sure. But where is the pressure when you are on the practice table? I think the greatest accomlishment in pool, one that will never be repeated, is winning the US Open 5 times. Especially when all the other players are doing whatever they can to knock you out.

Mark Wilson was telling this story a few years back:

Mark: So, Efren, what’s the most racks of rotation you’ve run without missing?

Efren: Oh, I run four racks.

Mark: Wow. Four racks. So what happen? Did you get out of position? Did you miss a cut shot?

Efren: No. I lose flip.
