Does anyone know who sells this besides atlas billiards supplies, I bought some from cue components last year and now they dont carry it. when i ran out i bought some from atlas but its not the same material. is there another source.
thanks gary

NOPE. I'd use Juma instead. Plenty of the Elforyn that gets shipped out is crap IMO. It is a poor ivory substitute that is way overpriced for what it is. I and one of my friends have had to ship back rods that were super streaky and unusable. Pretty sad for the price. The total inconsistency is why Cue Components stopped selling it.

That said, I have some here if you want to buy it. It is butt sized. I also have some ferrule rod as well.

I do like how it smells when cut though....

yeah i like it also, the 2 pieces that i got from cue compontents were good and looked like ivory but the piece i got from atlas is like a swirl and it looks like plastic

I have some of the stuff left that is usable, good, but I also have had issues with the quality of the stuff. I wont be ordering any more of it in the future..

We stopped selling the stufff for several reasons, one of which is that it sucks (IMHO of course) and the second is their arrogant attitude which is a whole different story which I'll save for a different day.

Anyway.... Elforyn is what it is and we stopped carrying it well over a year ago. We did some testing and you can see for yourself and make your own determination whether to use it or not. We won't be using or selling it.

Thanks Joe. Elforyn was actually on my list for the next time I placed an order. I was going to try it in ring billets. Guess I'll just stick with Ivory.

The best part is their statement, "A high grade ivory substitute material with a high mineral content. It can be processed like natural ivory - carved, turned, milled, etc. It glues well with Cyanoacrylate & Epoxy glues and can take a clear coat finish. Elforyn is chalk resistant, thermo-formable, chips while machining, and can be polished to a beautiful luster if desired. It reproduces all the typical characteristics of ivory (also playability) with a natural ivory grain structure, and is fluorescent under a black light.

There is nothing high grade or natural about the stuff and it sure is flourescent but not in any way like genuine ivory.

It's manufactured in Germany and they just can't get it right. It's not a typical German quality material; sort of disappointing. Randy is correct - it does smell nice when cutting it.

EXACTLY....

I should have sent the second piece back as well. For the price, it may as well be MDFI(multi density fibre ivory).

Even Atlas has said the have quality control issues with the stuff. They DO have control over what they send out though and sometimes I think it is shipped with "fingers crossed".

Does the white justify 3 times the cost over Juma? I have never tried it......

I had a shaft set up so I could interchange a 3/8-16 theaded, capped Elforyn/Triangle, a Juma/Triangle and a MM/Triangle combo. No glue, just snug it down - it works. Many more customers preferred the hit of the E over the others.

The way I see it: Elforyn costs about a $1.06/inch. Juma costs about 49¢ per inch. I'm not going to quibble about half a buck if the customer is happy.

That said, I will still use Juma, MM, LBM, Ivorine3, etc. if the customer wants it. I'm just saying that white Elforyn has proven itself a good product. And it does smell good.

The the butt section is 5.30 an inch compared to 2.00 an inch for the same size Juma. I guess I'll try the white....
