I think I was hacked when I was in FL at a tournament and some of you may have received spam email from my email address.
I think I have fixed the problem.
Contacted AOL and changed all my passwords.
Sorry if you got any of these spam mails.

Yeah, I got one too - I thought WTF???? - then I realized what probably happened.

No harm, no foul - simply pressed the delete key.

Hi Dave
If that's all you had to do, consider yourself lucky. I had to have my computer taken out and brought to the shop when mine got hacked. It was friggen brutal.

How does one know if he has been hacked? Although I have four computers I am way to old to learn to understand them. A number of years ago Chris Hightower sent me a message that he was getting some sort of messages that were being sent through my computer but I thought he got something mixed up as I had never sent him anything and I didn't think he was even in my e-mail base, but, I guess I could have been very wrong.

I know that at present I have my own e-mail address blocked as I sometimes get spam sent to me - by me. I was just born to soon for the electronic age.

I'm not an expert, but many times, it is just the password that gets hacked, and then junk/spam emails get sent out from the hacked email address.
Sometimes all it takes is to change your password. Other times, the computer itself has been infected (perhaps with a keylogger) and additional steps need to be taken.
Besides a good antivirus program, a good anti-malware program such as http://www.malwarebytes.org/ should be installed and run.
