Well you only have two more chances to qualify for the end of season tournament 10/22 and 10/29
monday's @ Texas Billiards in Watauga Tx. (a suburb of Fort Worth)
(817) 498-2629

Watauga, TX

last time the payout was something like this:

2nd $1250.00 plus calcutta
3rd $ 750.00 plus calcutta
4-5 $ 500.00 plus calcutta

with only two tournaments left you need to come ready to win

With a field of only 31 we awarded $4000.00 in tournament money and had a calcutta of almost $2700.00.
1st Greg Sandifer (no longer eligible to play in this tournament)
2nd Larry Land (no longer eligible to play in this tournament)
3rd Gary Vanover (no longer eligible to play in this tournament)
4th Ryan Terrell
5th-6th Scott Vermette & Kenny Boyle

Last Lady
1st Melinda (Trigger) Hinojosa
2nd Tina Land
3rd Ashley Nandrasy
the winner of the raffle for the Schon STL18 was Josh Shumate (hope you enjoy)
and the winner of the must be present to win $300.00 cash would have been the one and only Tony Hinojosa (sorry you had to go buddy)
next season starts 11/05/07

Darn it! Tony and I picked Carrabbas over staying and he would have won the $300?! I just called Tony at work - he is just sick about this!

It was a fun time! I can't wait til the next one. :)

I hope to have the photos ready to share soon.

I distinctly remember the announcement prior to the calcutta at the beginning of the tournament being that 1st and 2nd place were not eligible to play the next progressive tournament. When did it change to include the 3rd place person???

So one of my teammates got 2nd place & his wife did well too! I'll have to congratulate them both on Thursday. Mind you, I know quite a few of those names so I guess well done to all!

Ah - good point! I didn't even think of that. And instead, I paid for dinner because we said on the way to the tourney whoever makes more money in the tournament buys Carrabbas. :(

Question... (Still waiting)

Any news yet on why the rules of the tournament were changed after play began?

Hope this clears it up

thanks for the interest

The reason we changed the rules of the Tournament (I guess you are refering to letting Gary Vanover play) was out of courtesy because he had shown up for and split the win 1 week with Adam Jones for the 9 ball tournament. We had hoped to offer in the same format as the Progressive 8 ball tournament but were allowing all skill levels to compete in the nine ball.
Unfortunately we never were able to get the 9 ball tournament off the ground and had to cancel it. You are not the first person to complain about us allowing Gary Vanover to play in the "no masters or A+ level players allowed 8 ball" as everyone will agree Gary plays at the A+ level on a bad day and most of the time somewhere between master and grand master. I felt we were as fair as possible to Gary by allowing him to play and qualify for the finale. Gary plays very good and when we offer more open tournaments I truely hope he will come out and play. Please don't beat me up over this.
With the new tournament in front of us now we are going back to the same "No masters or A+ players allowed".

I hope this clears things up!

It looks like I'll be showing up there soon, along with some teammates! Sounds like fun, and I know so many people who enter so why should I miss out?;) I saw Greg tonight & he asked me why I wasn't there & hadn't I qualified? Nope, just ain't been there yet. Emphasis on the yet!:D
