I’ve only just started, I have supportYour one man crusade doesn't seem to be going anywhere.
It's not just a "one man" crusade. I'm with him on this.Your one man crusade doesn't seem to be going anywhere.
I dont understand this. Why would Gourst be allowed to play in the Mosconi Cup anyway? If he resides in Europe, then fine. But shouldnt Jason Shaw be on the US team? Didnt I read here he is residing in the US?good news. i don't think he will play european open or eurotour anyway because he must stay in US during the work visa application. he was interviewed in a podcast after the scott frost match and said something like that iirc.
i guess if he finished high in int'l open and US open he could still qualify for the mosconi?
I would bet Matchroom will use the WCBS or WPA logo / name in the event they need to show their country. For banned countries in the Olympics, athletes use the IOC flag. And I'll add another question.....
The WPA said they will allow him to complete under a "neutral flag". How does that work? Just pick one at random? Do you have to get permission from the country of who's flag you picked?
I wonder.... if they play under another country's flag, how will they be treated by the Russian government when they return?I would bet Matchroom will use the WCBS or WPA logo / name in the event they need to show their country. For banned countries in the Olympics, athletes use the IOC flag.

You tend to underestimate Fatboy Power, srsly!Your one man crusade doesn't seem to be going anywhere.
For lords sake, why do people in the US (and in the UK, yet more seldom) do not care about foreign names???Why would Gourst be allowed to play in the Mosconi Cup anyway?
I have nothing against the Russian people. One thing's for sure they got guts. There have been many of them protesting against the invasion, and I'm sure many of them have disappeared. And all three have spoken out against the war.
They won't play under another country's flag. And I can't say how their government will treat them. Gorst may be required to do his mandatory military service, but who knows? Personally if I were them I'd consider migrating themselves and their families to the US. But it's probably more difficult than it sounds.I wonder.... if they play under another country's flag, how will they be treated by the Russian government when they return?
Neutral flag is a flag of Olympic committee for respective country (or IOC, if else). And I'll add another question.....

To the best of my knowledge the Russian olympians didn’t have any issues going back to Russia earlier this year after competing under a made up flag.I wonder.... if they play under another country's flag, how will they be treated by the Russian government when they return?

I can see that. It's not just a "one man" crusade. I'm with him on this.
