End Rail: Cut The Wood or Wood Then Cut?

Cut, Then Wood or Wood, Then Cut?

I would think.....

Correct the angles, then add the extension wood.
Future repairs would be easier.

Looks like my GCIV had the wood added first, then the angles cut?
I need to have someone check these rails.

PS: Not My Work! Bought table this way.

How do you propose correcting miter angles that are to wide once the wood has already been removed from lets say 143 to 141 miter, without sanding or cutting away the back throat of the pocket?

I'm asking, not telling.

So then it must be.....

Add wood then trim to corrected angles.
