Setup a shot an an angle, when you are using spin that goes to the inside of the angle it's "inside".

For this angle > (you are cutting the ball to your left, the object call is the middle of the angle, the lines are cueball trajectory and then object ball to pocket) left spin is "inside" in this angle < left spin is "outside".

another way to say it '
if you cut the object ball to the left the left half of the cueball is inside english
the right side of the cueball is outside english when cutting the object balll to the left

It takes a lot of work to make either shot work.

To get a feel for squirt and swerve, set up the CB/OB straight to the pocket. Practice a set (i.e., 2 D apart), with half tip out from center at 10:30 and 1:30. Then graduate to 3, 4, and 5 D separations. When all these are under control, move to 1 tip out.

The skills are easily transferred for angled shots to the left and right.
