Enough players to go around?

Gotta tell ya, I've been just sitting back watching all this stuff regarding the sale of the BCA. My personal opinion... BCA, APA, VNEA, TAP and now ACA? Seems to me that there are enough players to go around. Don't ya think? The players will choose which they want to play in just as long as they can play!

I have known Mark Griffin for many years and I personally feel he will do an excellent job with the BCA.

I have known Cecil Messer, John Lewis, Julie Ann Mitchell, Randy Reinfeild, Dwaine Bowman for years too and I also think they will do an excellent job.

Both Bob and I wish all of them well. That is what is in the best interest for the players.

Something like the Formula One racing split?

Bob,

Do you remember when they had the, I think it was Formula One racing split into two different series'? Maybe it wasn't Formula One, but the point I'm trying to make is that it tore up the racing world and there wasn't enough racers in either one of the series'. What do you think?

Yes, Formula One and they split into CART. Both work.

I'm not Bob (or Eydie), but my answer to this is - not the same thing. There are already many, many different leagues, many of them regional, many national, and amateur pool is not suffering for it. Should the BCA leagues fail as a result of the change of ownership, there are a plethora of leagues for players to choose from.

As for the BCA Business side of the split, well, they have their own thing going. As far as I can see, they were never dependent on the leagues for their bread and butter.

Well, It is possible that it could hurt both of them. If half go to each events then both events could suffer. I guess only time will tell what the outcome will be.

Remember ANYONE can play in our events! www.pooltournaments.net (had to get in a plug!)

Hey Guys,

It was Championship Auto Racing Teams and Indy Racing League but, who is counting or paying attention. We should be. Both of those series are in trouble. One, because all the top teams left to join the other. Because of one race. The Indy 500. The organization the teams left was run by the team owners. The other by the guy who "owns" the Indianapolis Motor Speedway and the IRL. For sixty or seventy years, the Indy 500 had fifty or sixty cars attempting to qualify for thirty three starting spots. Because of the internal politics of the two racing groups, there are less than thirty cars right now. You may think that it is no big deal but, it is the message being sent to the whole racing world. There is a limit to the sponsorship monies available! IRL was started to promote American drivers into the top eschelon of racing. Cost control was another factor. Now the top drivers are from virtually everywhere but here. Costs are out of sight. So much for the founding father and all his money. Look closely. There is a lesson there to be learned!

good morning all

I don't know Mark personally, but from what I've read about the sale, I'm under the impression he does'nt plan to change much as far as the league operation goes from the players standpoint. If you were playing in the BCA before, why would you up and quit because of new ownership? If they start making things worse for the players, yea I'd find another league. I played in BCA and Valley and almost joined the APA leagues if I'd had more time.

I agree, let's give him a chance, but even if you don't, there'splenty of players out there who don't play in any leagues. Sam
