Hey all,

First, thanks a ton to everyone who helped me in my search for an older Palmer cue....found what sounds to me like the perfect cue to get me back on track with a full-splice hitter.

Now, next on my list is a Gilbert player's cue. Not so much into the jump/break sneakies I see floating around....but more into the classic player's cue, 5/16-14 pilot joint, straight, and playable (and only 1 shaft needed, really).

I've heard such great things about Gilbert cues, that I've gotta try one out for myself....but there isn't one to be had anywhere near my home...so who better to ask, than all the folks that buy and sell here on the forum.

Trying to avoid a huge amount of ringwork and extras, as this'll be a cue I knock around the local hall with (and it's a hair on the shadier side of things). 4 points would be a bonus...but NOT a requirement.

If anyone out there can steer me in the right direction, a reply would be greatly appreciated.

As for those that already have a Gilbert.....do they play as well as everyone seems to say they do? Any down sides to one of his cues...or is he one of the quiet successes? Makes me nervous, buying a cue without any frame of reference in mind...but no other options available to me at the moment....have to fly blind, I guess.

Thanks much, ya'll.

yes sir thay play great i have had many of Andys cues thay all played great...

Thanks for the replies, ya'll.

Again, I hear nothing but good stuff about Mr. Gilbert's work...which makes me want one even more! The E-bay listing one, though, is still a bit too unusual-lookinf for casual play in a darker and dingier pool room.....and it's a big-pin cue, anyway. Trying to get my hands on one of his SS 5/16-14 piloted joint cues (I've heard that he makes one of the better hitting piloted joints out there).

The hunt continues!

Thanks again, ya'll.
