Rolls- If a ball go 3 rails and then heads towards the corner pocket (initially, right after it hits the last rail), people say they got a bad roll if it isn't on line when it gets to the corner. Isn't this because the ball has diagonal rotation (rotating on an axis of 11 o'clock - 5 o'clock for instance) after it hits the 3rd rail?

If you hit a soft shot down table with no english, and it does not hit where you directed it, is it more than likely a bad cue ball?

How do you test for a bad cue ball? I've heard that some tourny directors throw out 80% of cue balls because they are bad.

If you aren't sure your table is perfectly level, and you get opposite rolls on different ends of the table, does that mean the slate is bad?

Thanks in advance for any assistance.

Don Feeney's tapes cover all of this. If you see it on the tape it would be better than trying to explain it all. After watching the tapes I learned a lot but in reality unless it is your own table there is nothing you can do to correct the problems except to avoid playing on them.
