Hi All,

I've been contacted by a couple of AZers asking about the status of Ernie's next batch so I thought I'd post it so all can see.

I was just told that the next batch is expected to be ready in 6-8 weeks. It will consist of some of the same plain ones and some with points. The points will all be similar with only minor changes in each. Down the road, there should be 2-3 different variations of both the plain models & the pointed models. I have no pricing for the pointed cues as of yet.

Thanks for your patience & I'm happy to report Ernie is doing very well in his new environment. He thanks all of you for your encouragement & support, as do I. I'll continue reporting to you as I learn more.

Dave

Sorry, I meant to state that. I believe their will be 9 (at least 8) in this batch and the batch will be completed before posting so those at the top of the list will get their choice of the whole lot.

Good to hear. How many are in the second batch if I may ask?

Guess you could say I'm a big fan of player's cues, and have SW, Mottey, Searing, TS, Bluegrass and several others in my collection.

Anyway, Ernie Martinez certainly does not need my introduction, but for those of you on the list for one of Ernie's cues or have never shot with one, let me just say that you are getting one of the purest hitting cues you will ever play with. I am a huge fan and am very happy that the man has recently made some huge strides in his life..

Ernie, so glad to hear you are back and going strong!

Glad to hear things are going well for Ernie. I'll be patiently waiting for my number to come up.

A buddy of mine has a Showcase hustler that Ernie made and it plays awesome.

Current Wait List

Here is the current wait list but I've stopped writing the date & time received but I have a record of it all. It's become too much typing and I hope by now you will all trust that I am placing everyone on a 1st come 1st served basis. Thanks, Dave

Here is the updated list.

< Deleted list to avoid confusion. For final list of 54, please look for post dated 09-22-2006, 08:54 AM in this thread. >

Wow! thanks again.

Thanks for the update Dave. I have never hit with one of Ernie's cues, but from what I hear it is very much worth the wait.

To whom it may concern:

I ordered my Ernie Martinez almost a year and a half ago, and practically went through hell and high water to finally receive it. With Dave's help I finally cornered Ernie and had him complete two cues. Furthermore I would like to add that I've owned many customs over the years and I was absolutely floored with what Ernie turned out. I pull no punches when it comes to my opinions on who turns out a quality product and I'm happy to say that Ernie has met some pretty high standards from me.

To all those that will eventually get one, I truly believe that you will be happy with the workmanship.

Thanks again Dave for helping me get my two cues completed. As you know, I really like Ernie, I hope that he finally gets his life back under control.

Regards,
Doug

What a list

Never should have punched it out. Makes a poor bumb country boy like me wounder how many will be resold. Seems a stick maker would want a shooter to poot some shool with thier fishin pole! If he makes a sneeky pete put me on the top of that list!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Thanks, Doug for your nice comments. As for an update, I just returned from a 2 week vacation and will be getting updated info sometime this week, which I will post.

Next Batch Update

Good Morning,

Visited Ernie and his partner yesterday and came back with new update information about the next "Two" Batches. Including pricing and configurations Ernie may be offering as the assortment in each batch.

Before we get into that, it's been decided that we would freeze the list as is (54 - 3 sold, see below) and not accept any additional names at this time (sorry egon). The reason, we all know the quality and collectability of Ernie's cues and that cue prices can fluctuate and increase with demand, cost of materials, etc. Ernie, his business partner, & I appreciate the support & encouragement AZ Billiards has given Ernie during his "comeback" so we will price protect his cues for the entire list. Whatever the final price, all 51 remaining will be offered the cues at that price without the fear of an increase. After that...;)? This is our way of saying thanks.

Please note that the following preliminary pricing is for the base cues noted and if additions were made to them (inlays, additional veneers, fancy rings, etc.) there would be an additional cost. The final decided price will not exceed the following (although these prices are more than fair already ):

Standard cue w/1 shaft (what has already been sold).......................$575
4 points, no veneer w/2 shafts....................................................$1000
4 (8) points, 1 recut point imbedded in each point, 2 shafts..............$1300
4 points w/2 handmade veneers w/2 shafts....................................$1400

Note: All 4 point cues, I'm told, will have fancier rings than the Standard cue. I saw no samples of a completed pointed cue but I saw the recut points for one of the cues and they came out awesome.

Here's what to expect as far as time frame: next batch will be a 9-cue assortment and is estimated to be ready in about 6 weeks. The next batch should be ready in another 6 weeks. That's 18 over the next 3 months...getting excited? Of course, these time frames are on cuemaker time so please be patient.

Thank you Paulybatz

I have been busy with a new job so I have not been on top of the status for the 2nd batch of Ernie's cues. Sorry. I want to thank Pauly for contacting me and asking about its status.

I am told that we are about 4 weeks away from now. It was expained to me that Ernie got inspired and made a few more of the fancy ones than originally expected and will now be starting on the plain ones. There should be at least 9 cues as promised but could be more. Ernie's bus mgr sounded pretty excited about the cues so far so I am really looking forward to seeing them along with you guys.

What we've learned...Cuemaker time: 6 weeks = ? (at least 10 weeks):). It sounds like the wait will be worth it. As always, as I learn more, you will learn more.

Dave
