New Requirements For the "Ernie List"
Hi all,
First, thank you for all the time & thought you put into your ideas as to how we can improve the requirements for the lists. We tried to come up with resolutions that will provide you with the most choices without compromising the integrity of the list. Here?€™s what we?€™ve come up with from your suggestions:
1)
We will continue to work off of one list so people can make up their minds as to whether they want points or no points and not get pigeon-holed into one category or the other.
2)
Anyone can swap with anyone else on the list for any reason (already happening, but now it's official). It is the responsibility of those who wish to swap their spots to do so. If it's your turn and you were unable to swap, you buy a cue or get bumped from list, your choice.
3)
New: If it's your turn and you want a cue with points but one is not available, and only if one is not available,
you can pass and will retain your position even if there are plain-janes left. This is a one-time thing and you will have to buy a cue with points from the next batch - having the 1st choice.
4) If there are one or more cues left after the original list for that batch is complete, it will not be mandatory for the next in line to take the cue(s). At that time, anyone on the list has the right to buy those cues with priority given to the highest on the remaining list. If no one claims it after a few days, it/they will be sold locally.
5)
Variety in Plain-Janes: Ernie said he would like to make 3 plain janes for every 10 cues he makes. He will use different woods in each and maybe throw in 1 wrapless cue out of the 3. They should not all look the same.
If no Plain-Jane is available when it's your turn & that's your preference, you keep your place in line but must buy a Plain-Jane next batch.
6)
Extra shaft & size of shaft: One extra shaft can be purchased at the time of payment for the Plain-Jane selected (since pointed cues already have 2 shafts). Please be aware that additional time is needed for an extra shaft. If anyone buying a cue from this list would like Ernie to thin down the shafts, they just need to ask when finalizing payment. Note: 12.6mm would be the thinnest Ernie would reduce any shafts, sorry. If you want thinner than that, new shafts must be made and you would be charged accordingly.
7)
Provide current email address, mobile phone, and home phone: All on the upcoming batch list must provide contact information to me (PM is fine or
dvgross@comcast.net).
8)
Really New: Some have asked that they would like to give input as to what they will be getting in their cue, similar to what Southwest does. Although this is almost impossible to do with a 1st come 1st served list format, what Ernie & his business manager agreed to do (and this is to thank everyone for their support of Ernie & this list)
for everyone that buys a cue off the list as agreed (minimum purchase a Plain-Jane), they will be eligible to order a true custom made cue from Ernie without need for deposit. Your choice of woods, inlays, # of veneers/recut points, hoppe rings, etc.
Please understand that the "list" has priority so these customs may take a while, but they will be made. The list for the custom cues will be prioritized in the order of those on the original list that choose to take advantage of this offer (not mandatory). In other words, if "Jazz" who was #1 wants a custom, he's first. I will contact the first 12 that bought cues to make sure they are aware of this offer.
The pricing for these customs will be competitive but will not be based on the "Thank You" pricing Ernie is offering for those on the main list that are helping him get on his feet.
We believe that these new and improved rules, that you helped create, offer many options for those that were nice enough to get on the list, to get what they want. We hope you agree.
Thank you all, again, for your support of Ernie and sharing your ideas.
Dave
