Does anyone use an Espiritu XP Shaft, or played with one before? Id like to get your thoughts on it compared to a Predator 314-2. Thanx

Haven't had the pleasure of trying one yet. I do have a 92 Espiritu and plan to get an XP shaft for it. It's from his 5/16x18 period and he went to 14 thread shortly after and has stayed with it.

I think Russ is one of the under-appreciated cue makers. I'll be interested in the responses here.

I have one. I ordered it after trying it in Valley Forge last year. It seemed a bit thicker than my 314 when i first received it. I ended up having it spun down a bit. I like the way it plays, however I still use my Predator shaft. I put it on every now and then to hit balls with it though, and its fairly close. I wanted two basically new shafts to go with my cue--one reg and one LD as I dont use them.

I see your from Baltimore. If you around some of the tourneys (APT/monthlys) in the area you could hit mine to see how you like it--assuming your have the standard 5/16-14 joint.

I appreciate the offer, if I don't make it to the Billiards Expo I will take you up on that offer.

Espiritu shafts

I have two Espiritu cues one came with a regular shaft and the other came with a XP shaft. Some specs on what I have.
Regular shaft 4.28 oz 12.65 mm at the tip, balances at 11 1/8 inches, ferrule 1 inch long.
XP shaft 4.07 oz 12.7 mm at the tip, balances at 11 inches, ferrule 3/4 inch long.
I was surprised to see the XP shaft is actually thicker at the end then the regular shaft. I really don't notice any difference in deflection with the XP shaft. But I feel the regular shaft has a more solid hit to it. Just my opinion but I like regular maple shafts better than any Low Deflection shafts I've tried. If I was going to sell either of them I would keep the regular shaft and sell the XP.
