Ste, are you there in Austria watching the tournament or posting these via Tanja? :)

Finland's Markus Juva beat Darren Appleton 9-8 in the loser qualification match for last 32. Very tough match in which Markus was trailing 8-6 but managed to claw his way back to hill-hill in which both missed the 9-ball at least once before Markus made it. I heard Daz broke his cue after the loss :( Too bad Markus lost to Niels in the L32.

Not not over there, but am thinking of catching a flight out in a few hours to surprise her (shhhh) !

The 9-8 between Daz and Markus had a real fraught ending with both of them dogging the 9 twice ! Great to watch but must have been soul destroying to play in.

Niels has been flying through the 9's. He will take some stopping today.

Who do you fancy to make the final (draw allowing) ?

.

Good morning Dudes & Dudettes,

As Miko posted the play-out for the later rounds of the EC 9 Ball today - I'll post you the updates on the Cohen / Nick vd Berg match about to start in 10mins. With the greatest respect to all the other players in the draw for this band of game scheduled for 11am CET, I don't see any possible upsets here.

Stefan has been playing very solid and consistently through the 9's this week and Nick has played some damn impressive positional & controlled shots for me. So I predict this to be a SLOW mudfight with very few thrills; but still an impressive display of cueball control.

Updates to follow....

Hey Ste. It's hard to predict anything else than an all-Dutch final in men and all-Austrian final in women.

Haha... nice surprise it would be for her :)

Nick playing with impressive control this morning.

Yeah Mikko, I hear that... all Dutch & Austrian finals (draw allowing - I haven't seen the sheets yet).

Not so slow after all !

Cohen, Stephan FRA 0 vs 5 NED Berg-van-den, Nick

Nick on fire... beating the last year's 9-ball champion Cohen quite easily so far.

Hey Ste, I posted the L8 charts and the matches in this thread earlier.

Chinahov leading Niels 8-5. Niels looking a bit uncomfortable. The match is streamed via bwin.
