Eurosport 2 is now advertising for broadcasting the Chicago event live next month...

If the Chicago is cancelled, I think that the IPT have made it much harder for other tours to get live coverage in Europe, foe example the Eurotour.

It's not good for Europes biggest tv-channel to advertise for something that's not gonna happen. Make the Europsport look stupid. Will that make them want to broadcast pool live in the future?

It will certainly make them think twice about broadcasting IPT events, but it's also pretty doubtful there will be any more IPT events, so they have nothing to worry about in that reguard. Hopefully this won't have too much impact on their pool broadcasts but I would understand if they were hesitant to show any more pool.
 
Apparently the money spending pool playing fans and players aren't the only ones who don't get the factual news from the IPT. Important media partners get the shaft as well!

If a HO deal actually exists it makes you wonder what kind of stuff they are being told.
 
I've called the Norwegian commentator earlier today, and told him that it's 99% not going to be run as scheduled, and that I would forward any info to him when I get it.

Has now been done. Guess he will tell Eurosport, but I suppose the IPT have already talked with Eurosport too.

Hi Roy,
Two or Three weeks ago in the TV Guide they advertised the the finals of the Reno Event on Eurosport I believe it was Sunday evening and flipped the channel aannddddd there was POLO. WTF!!!!!:mad:

It's complicated. Apparently KT had to pay Eurosport to show the action from Reno in order to meet sponsor's requirements for minimum audience ratings. Unfortunately, just when everything was about to start, them buggers from FedEX only went and lost the bloody cheque.
