Ever hear of Gracie cues from the Philippines?

I bought this cue a while ago off ebay because I liked the design. The hit is pretty good, but I still find myself going back to my Schon. Just curious if anyone has ever heard of this cue maker before? The cue is a bit over sized with a 5/16 18 joint and a leather wrap. I find myself not liking a leather wrap so maybe that is why I go back to my trusty Schon. I also bought two Predator shafts one 29" and one 30." The 29" was just to tyed me over until I received my 30" shaft from Predator. If anyone is interested in seeing it in person I'll will be at the Expo on Thursday, but since I have not made any arrangments to stay I will most likely be driving home on Thursday night Friday morning.

The ONLY cue maker from over there that I would trust is Ed Reyes.

That and maybe Viattore. Although the jury is still out on that one. If I remember correctly, Shorty had one so now that I think of it, they can't be all that great.

How much did you pay for it? I'll ask around and see what I can dig up...

Linds also make pretty good cue for the money. Edwin used to work there, I believe.

 My my, and I always thought that this http://www.lindscues.com.ph/about linds/About Linds.html is my official connection to Linds. Man! I got had again! :) ;)

Billy, 4th guy from the right of the 2nd picture from the top, does cues for Frank in Pandi after he was let go by Linds. Monski knows Billy real well so he may be able to answer your questions about Gracie Cues.

Thank you to all who sent me heads-up mail.

I believe that Linds and Edwin collaborate on cues as well as other successful projects. Linds showing Edwin as Cue/Technological Consultant on his site proves this... although I don't think they have ever had an employer-employee relationship.

I know Billy well when he was with Linds. He used to do all my tips and has turned some of my shaft. Contact with him has been rare after he left Linds. But he did move on to Frank's shop in Bulacan. And as I fould out this afternoon, Gracie Cues does come out of Frank's shop... That's all I found out about Gracie Cues.

ER, didn't mean to  you.. Didn't know it was a touchy subject.

Who better than you know the relationship.

So I amend my previous quote as

"Linds also make pretty good cue for the money. Edwin is cue/technology consultant there, I believe."

No, no..I was having fun. LOL. Linds is a very good friend of mine aside from being godfather to his daughter. We spend some freetime together playing pool and shooting sh*t. In conjunction to just having fun, I was trying to bring traffic to his site.:D

Kool ...

I'm buttering up to you ... since your cue is also on my list to buy :D

:) Thanks Jazz. I wish I can let out my usual reply of :"Whenever you're ready" but I just can't. I have been real busy with cues, product development and machinery development. Until recently, it was 60% cues, 20% product development and 20% machinery development and production. Now I'm getting back in the cuecrafting speed that I prefer which is 80% cuecrafting, 15% product R&D and 5% machinery.

What's new?
1. I researched, designed and manufactured a cuemaking (my style) specific 4-axis (6-axis capable) CNC router/mill. I'm going to use this to: A. final taper the 2 shafts, that normally come with my cues, simultaneously.
B. Cut the inlays but still hand cut the pockets.
C. V-splice cavity, point stock production and veneer mitreing.

2. ER24- 24 radially spliced shaft with carbon-fiber insert.
3. Full-splice veneered 6 pointers.

New stuff coming out:
1. 7-points veneered or recut short v-splice cues
2. ER24 shafts
3. New and exclusive to ER Cues (I bought all available raw and processed according to my specs) exotic leather wrap. Not in the endangered species list but difficult to acquire due to where it comes from. It's patterned but not as rough as lizard yet not as smooth as pig or cowhide.
4. It's about time to use the shaft material that I mentioned a few years back. It comes from what use to be cleaning rod shafts for WW2 US Howitzers that were taken out of commission in 2001 by the Armed Forces of the Philippines. My friend got that de-milling (destroying) contract and gave me all the hard maple and some ash cleaning rod shafts.:)
5. Sports apparel line.

It's going to be an exciting year ahead!

Busy man .. best wishes to you.

Sigh ... another cue that I'll have to hunt down in the secondary market. If anyone knows any ER cues available for sale PM me. But I'm not Japanese/Taiwanese nor pay their "rate" :D
