Ever see someones form so out of whack . . .

I've seen a guy that lays his grip hand thumb on top of the cue..pointed at the joint...shoots pretty straight.

I have seen strokes that go in circles instead of just forward and back.

Of course the already mentioned US Open champ MD that is just painful to watch.

The topper is the technique of a couple different girls...one doesn't even need a cue.;)

I've known this guy for years who has the most god awful stroke you can imagine, but if you only watched the tip of his cue, you would be hard pressed to find someone who looked more consistent from the bridge hand forward. The guy plays great, probably shortstop speed and was a notorious hustler and gambler in my little part of the pool world.

Someone above mentioned a lawn chair unfolding, that would be a good start to describe his stroke. Add in some rust and a couple spots where it sticks consistently as it's trying to open and you would have a pretty good idea of what it looked like.

I hadn't seen this guy in several years and then he popped up as a sub on one of my leagues. His stroke was the same disaster that I remembered and he could still run out 8 ball racks like nothing and was looking to give up any weight he had to in order to get a game, even when he knew it wasn't nearly enough :D .

A girl on my APA team gets down on the cue ball and aims without benefit of practice strokes. When she is ready, her grip hand makes a punching motion down and to the right, not at all toward the cue ball. Once or twice per match she misses the object ball completely, usually while playing the 8 with ball in hand!

Oh, the Huge Manatee!

Watch an Alan Hopkins video. That will get you back in stroke.

When I find myself struggling with my stroke, I like to have a Budweiser and watch a Keith McCready video.

I was trying to forget

This guy with a cowboy hat and thick glasses.I cant quite picture the exact "mechanics" but it may be a mental block. He can play very well I am told.It was about a year ago and i was cringing every time he shot so i left the room.

Yeah,

It's kind of like people that think they can learn about computers by just trying it instead of having to actually learn how to do it by reading the manuals/instructions.

Watching people with bad form is kind of like going to the Dentist for me. It gets to a point sometimes where I don't think I can stand it.

I hope I never see a pool cue spinning like a baton.

They have manuels and instructions? I always get my stuff hand me down from my brother.....I guess that would be easier. I hear they have classes too.

To stay on point, I knew a guy that imitated Tom Cruise by looking you in the face while he made the shot. I really wasn't that amused in the movie and certainly sick of watching it after at least the second time. It also works out a ton better when the shot goes. Of course this is referrenced to "The Color of Money."
