I had the tournament results typed out...I hit submit, only to find that I had timed out and was no longer logged in. So......I lost the entire post.

Details to follow tomorrow, as I am too exhausted to retype it at this time.

For now, a big thanks to all of the teams who made this event a success. A big thanks to the Sponsors, (see original tourny thread). And a big, big thanks to Sarah Rousey and Alice Rim for their selfless donation of their time.

Landshark77....A very big thanks to you too. *ducks to miss flying objects*

Then that makes me a loser, right? I am glad to see I am living up to my potential! And it's all good...no need for me to throw things, but if I felt the need to start throwing things, keep this in mind: There is no need to duck, as I do not miss...unless you count the money ball sitting in front of the pocket. But that's just me living up to my potential.

Oh, and as far as that timing out thing goes...I find that only happens to me if I don't check the remember me box.

No landshark77, that does not make you a loser at all. Indeed you are a very big winner of my heart.

1st Annual Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation Benefit Pool Tournament.

The teams were as follows.

landshark77 / Pelican

Alice Rim / John

Andy Benn / Al. Cornell

Sarah Rousey / Mike

Fast Eddie O'Hare / Me

Karen / Mike

Ron / MaryAnn Densmore

Josh Marlow/ Katja

James Barnes/ Lynn

Bobby Thorton/ Nicole

Blane Logan/ Kris

1st place- Sarah Rousey/ Mike

2nd---- Andy/ Al

3rd----Fast Eddie/ ME!

4th-10th Tie

It was a wonderful event with 10 teams raising nearly $700. With donations still coming in, we are approaching the $1000 mark with a week left to go.

Everyone played wonderfully, except me, as I was easily distracted between every shot.

Alice & Sarah were awesome and very well liked by the crowd. They assisted with sales and raffle drawings, Alice sold the little paper sneakers and mixed with the crowd. The girls stayed after and signed autographs and did photo ops. Which all were very appreciative of, none more than me I'm sure.

Sarah and I got to talk Juvenile Diabetes issues, and I started tearing up a little....nothing new there. Sarah also corrected me in my choice of fragrances so as not to smell like I've been shooping at the GAP. LMAO!

Alice invited me on to the tour, which was actually rather suprising as I wasn't even playing close to my game.

I was fortunate enough to treat them each to dinner at my home room over the weekend. Actually, my home room owner ended up picking up the tab as part of his donation, so that was pretty cool.

I hope they both liked the Garage and will visit again soon. That includes Mike too.

The sponsors were all fantastic and can be identified in the original thread. I thank them from the bottom of my heart. I thank Alice and Sarah for their participation and for the great idea's when we do this again next year. They are 2 truly special gals.

I especially thank the teams who participated and made it such a wonderful event. It's good people like yourselves that will make finding a cure for Juvenile Diabetes a reality for many children.

Our very own landshark was drawn in the cue raffle, but we drew another name....But just because she's not a winner, she's definitely not a loser.

Our very own Pelican was also drawn for a cue, which I will ship out this week.

I had a better write up last night, but as I said, I lost the post and now I'm being rushed....so I hope this will do.

Again, Thanks to everyone. Hope to see you next year. (landshark, this means you too.)

What's the matter with the GAP?

Cheese-E fragrances, I suppose.

After the tournament, I was dead tired. I had averaged 6 hours of sleep in about 36 hours. Sarah and Mike had followed Lilliy & I down to the "Garage" for a look see & a quick bite to eat. As I was walking in, I splashed a bit of Healing Garden Tangerine on my collar as a quick pick me up. Sarah, not missing a beat, say's something to the effect..." It smells like someone has been shopping at the GAP."

It's still the funniest thing I've heard in 3 days.

I don't know Pelican, seems a bit off to me. If you are going to mix Healing Garden Tangerine with anything it should be Absolut Citrus. Or at least Absolut Mandrin, Limon, or Citron, something along those lines. Although I would definately have to pass on the taste testing.

BTW, was it ...how should I say it...your odd drinking habits that led to our ultimate loss in the tourney, let alone not even getting a mention on the particpants list? :p (Just playin' Michelle... no harm, but it is a ball in hand foul! ;) )

Hi everyone. Sorry for taking so long to post. I first have to say thank you to Michelle. You did a great job and things will only get better in the years to come. I also have to thank the sponsors. They did a great job.

I really had a great time at this event. I didn't run into one unfriendly person. Everyone was very giving when it came to donations. I hope they all know that they are helping millions of kids...me included (even though I'm not much of a kid anymore).

The tournament was alot of fun. Scotch doubles tournaments really are the best. We got lucky and won the tournament. The trophies are awesome. I'm sorry we had to play you in the process Michelle. We got lucky that you were distracted.

Landshark and Pelican...you guys made out like bandits. I said to Michelle after Pelican won the first cue raffle, "wouldn't it be funny if Landshark won the other". Sure enough, it happened. I know, I owe you Landshark, but you made a kid really happy by giving the cue back. As for you guys and your tournament performance...I don't know what happened. You guys looked strong at first then I think I saw you both hittin' the sauce. Maybe next year will be your year. On a more serious note, thank you both for helping out. You are both very generous.

Michelle....there is nothing wrong with the GAP. I was just making and observation. I used to wear that perfume so at least I didn't say you smelled bad.

Thank you again for everything. You were really great about everything. We both thank you very much for making us feel so welcome.

Take care,
Sarah

The only sauce I was hittin' was the Prego (*jingle, jingle*)...I'm still upset by the lack of noodles though.

And nobody owes me a thing. It was my pleasure. Anything for the kiddies. :p
