I finally have a reason to get excited to go play pool again since I was just starting out, even for fun! I got one of my cues back from a buddy I sold it to about 1-2 mo. ago, and he threw in a DZ shaft (of course) with an IVORY ferrule and med. moori tip...what a GREAT combo!! I meant to try it out a little, and when I paid my time I had played alot longer than I originally wanted to. time went by SO quick cause I was having fun, and by myself even...no money involved!!:D anyone else use this combo? I can guarantee if you don't, and try it, you'll love it. also...my cue has a "wood to wood" 3/8x10 joint and pin. I like that joint the best and have tried out ALOT of joint combinations. the shaft is a little " livelier" due to the ivory ferrule, but not enough I can't adjust to it. english is CRAZY!! I was even making HARD on the rail cut shots to the corners with almost ease. I'd put an object ball mid rail, and the cueball 1 ball width to either side of the dots (head dot...rack dot)mid-table and making 8 out of 10!! :D I haven't had so much fun since I was just learning to play. I found a combo I can be satisfied with now. I like the hit of DZ cues normally, but this is like a whole new world to me. little did Bill know he'd create a monster selling me the cue back ;) I guess I'm rambling now, just wanted you guys to know a GREAT combo if at all interested. What tip/ferrule combination had you been using on your DZ shafts?

my old favorite combo is: his standard ferrule (don't know really) and a med. talisman tip. oh, his ferrule is linen phenolic?
