Existing Joint Collar on Shaft

Can you put the existing Joint Collar from the original shaft onto a new shaft? or does it have to be made again?

My huebler shaft broke from careless use and I want to keep the original collar on it.

Can it be done?

Sure, it's done all the time.

I just did that for a friends Huebler cue. The shaft is now straight, which is more than I can say for the cue. The thing looked like a banana.
