Is this a Schon? It's a gorgeous stick but only an S on the butt plate.

Take a look it's Ebay item no. 150818153197
Early 80's custom Schon, short splice "natural" joint pool cue.

I'd like to bid but just the S has me worried. Thanks

The rings, butt cap, and what is left of the logo looks right. But the pin looks like an 18 pitch while the early ones on Palmer collector look to be standard 14 pitch. Might just be the pics but I would call Mr runde on this one and be.asking some serious questions of the seller before spending too much money.
Even if inconclusive on the id the price its at now is pretty fair as long as its straight

I'd say not a schon...

logo isn't right, pilot on the shaft is flat and usually there is a pilot. Would have to be a early one if it is.

The S in the logo isn't quite the same squiggley S found on my early Runde and something else -- the seller says the logo is wearing off. The logo isn't "wearing off" -- looks like to me the rest of the logo was never there. Save the picture to your desktop, open it up in a photo program -- it's quite large --230 KB-- and it's obvious the rest of the logo was never there.

yea, why would it have wear on the logo of all places but the finish everywhere else is almost perfect?

I'm not an expert, and it's a nice looking cue, but it ain't a Schon.

It looks like a R6 variant. My early Schon has the same joint and it is 5/16 by 14 and NOT ivory. It has a "grain" look but it is not ivory. The "S" looks right but it looks as if the cue butt was refinished and it may have been sanded off. Schon used a few slightly different scripts.
